Rose Garden
Portland, Oregon

smellingflowers.jpg

There's more than 10,000 rose bushes and around 650 different varieties. The best time to go is between May and September. It was rainy when I went, but the roses were still vibrant, beautiful, and smelled just as wonderful.  I bought a rose petal jar and it still smells just like it!

Yaquina Lighthouse is 93 feet tall and beautiful yellow flowers surround it. There are steps you can take down to walk on Cobble beach. Cobble beach is made up of black shiny stones and if you keep an eye out in the water, you may spot some seals swimming!

The winters in Minnesota make me want to be at the beach even more. I miss the sound of the crashing waves and sunshine. And if you wanted any sort of treat, like an acai bowl, smoothie, slushee, or ice cream, all you had to do was walk a bit. There was also sand volleyball nearby!

Haystack Rock
cannon beach, OR

Fun fact, Haystack rock is actually formed by lava! Again, it was super rainy when I went, but it was still cool to see. Nearby it were tons of little tide pools that you could walk up and look inside to see all the creatures. Oregon is very dog friendly, so there were many cute dogs.

multnomah falls
multnomah county, or

I sure was in for a treat when I came to see this waterfall. See that bridge? You are actually able to walk up a little trail to go onto it! There's also another trail to the way top. There are tons of rainbows from the mist and the sound from the waterfall is extremely peaceful.

We actually came across the Reserve after we hiked the Seven Bridges. Seven Bridges is four miles, so the view after the hike was extremely rewarding. We ended up timing the hike perfectly though! When we realized the sun was setting, we all SPRINTED to the top to get the best view.
